Frequently asked
Why is Marangu different?
It is the Kilimanjaro route associated with alpine huts rather than tented camps; TANAPA lists Mandara, Horombo and Kibo huts.
Is six days enough?
It is a possible itinerary, but altitude acclimatization is important. TANAPA advises gradual ascent and acclimatization days.
Is a guide required?
Yes. TANAPA states that climbs must be guided by a licensed operator; solo trekking is not permitted.
