The Serengeti

A landscape that moves.

Serengeti National Park sits at the heart of the wider Serengeti–Mara ecosystem. Its vast savannahs, rocky kopjes, rivers and woodlands support one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife landscapes.

The park covers approximately 14,763 square kilometres and forms part of a much larger transboundary ecosystem extending between northern Tanzania and Kenya.

The annual movement of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles is one of the defining ecological processes of this landscape, but Serengeti is also a year-round destination for resident wildlife and predators.

Serengeti National Park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981 under criteria (vii) and (x).
Beyond the migration

Come for the spectacle. Stay for the wild.

The Serengeti offers a layered safari experience. Follow predators across open plains, pause beneath a kopje, watch elephants move through woodland, or simply sit quietly while the landscape changes around you.
